A website that keeps eye contact

Concept

Using face recognition, the site knows when it is being looked at and keeps track of how long people have looked at it since it first went online. The eyes of the viewer are represented as two dots on the screen. When multiple users are online at the same time, they can see the other's eyes as well.

Background

This website is part of a series of minimalist websites as artworks – serving as provocations of sorts, in an attempt to make the web more playful again. Each piece is based on a simple statement, such as “A website that keeps eye contact”, and executed in the simplest possible manner using web technologies.
